Once upon a time... The Labegorre Fund
The “Fonds Labégorre” was inaugurated in November 2014 in the commune of Seignosse.
By summer 2024, to mark its tenth anniversary, the gallery and endowment fund dedicated to painter Serge Labégorre could proudly announce having welcomed nearly 19,000 visitors. In addition to exhibitions devoted to the resident artist, the gallery also hosted 30 temporary exhibitions featuring other artists.
The endowment fund itself organized three special encounters with notable figures around the theme of artistic creation, and welcomed renowned French cellist Henri Demarquette for a private concert and a masterclass with students from the Tyrosse conservatory.
In July 2024, a reception was held to thank all those who made the creation of this institution possible: patrons, family, architect, notary, craftsmen, accountants, gallery owners, collectors, and friends.
Since January 2024, a new force has emerged: The Friends of Serge Labégorre’s Work, a group united around patron and collector Alain Querrioux, in support of the work already accomplished.
On July 6, 2024, the new exhibition hall of the Fonds gallery was also inaugurated.
The journey continues.
